A Star which is the Brightest in Earths Night sky!
The meaning of the star "Glowing" is derived from Greek a very fitting name because it was so bright even in Ancient times.
Sirius is also knows as the "Dog Star", because it is located in the Canis Majoris constellation which is Latin for "The greater dog".
It is a Binary Star meaning two Stars that are bound to orbit each other. Although Visibly it looks like one star, it actually consists of two stars that are very close together known as Sirius A & Sirius B.
(The below image shows the brightest star- Sirius A and the white Dwarf - Sirius B).
Fun Fact: Some people feel the Sirius twinkles (Shimmers) a lot in the night sky, but that's just the Sirius light passing through Earths Atmosphere.
